About Us
Standard Practice Productions (SPP) is an award-winning independent film and theatre company based in Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 2021, the company brings together experienced creators from Ireland’s film, music and media industries.
SPP's debut short comedy ‘A Short Horror Film’ received multiple awards and nominations internationally, including Best Comedy at the Santa Monica Shorts Festival.
Our first feature film, Suit Hung. Tied Tongue. , is a provocative pseudo docu-drama, about two brothers who become radicalised against the Irish state following personal tragedy, exploring themes of social, political discontent and ultimately leading to murder.
It has recently been acquired by Ireland’s state broadcaster RTÉ for broadcast in 2026.
In Feb 2025 we presented our debut theatre work ‘Helter Shelter’, at Smock Alley Theatre to a sold out audience. The play follows six dogs in an animal shelter ruled by two ruthless cats. Helter Shelter will return for a full theatre run in 2027 / 28.
